Clown Costumes

How to choose a clown costume

Decide first whether you want scary or friendly, because the two looks use different pieces, from latex masks to bright wigs and face paint. Then check whether you are buying a full costume or one part of the look. In this collection, masks, wigs and makeup outnumber full costumes, so most shoppers put a look together from a few items.

Scary clowns

Scary styles include Art the Clown from Terrifier, Kill Joy, an evil clown, a bearded clown, a Carnevil clown and a chrome clown. Kill Joy comes in men's and boys' versions, and there is also a boys' evil clown. Trick or Treat Studios and Ghoulish are two of the main brands here. Friendly and circus clowns

For a lighter look, there are carnival, dancing and big top clown costumes, a ringmaster-style Big Top Suit, and Lolli the Clown for girls. Toddler styles include Big Top Fun Clown and Clown Girl. The collection also includes two clownfish costumes, in case your clown idea leans toward the ocean. Friendly clowns are a good fit for family events and younger trick-or-treaters.

Build the look in pieces

About a third of the items here are masks, and wigs and makeup are another large share. Lacey Wigs is one of the brands. A mask is the quickest way to a scary clown face, while a wig and makeup let you show more expression and change the look from friendly to frightening. If your costume does not include a wig or face paint, add them here or from Halloween wigs and Halloween makeup.

Sizes for adults and kids

Adult costumes are listed from small to 2X, and kids costumes from child small to XL, with toddler sizes for 2T and 3T to 4T. Check the size chart on each product page, and if you are between sizes, the larger one is usually safer for a costume worn over clothes.
