How to choose a fog machine and Halloween effects

Lights, fog and sound do more for a haunt than any single prop. Decide where the effect will go, indoors or out, then check the product page for power, fluid and setup details. A simple setup of one fog machine, one projector and a string of lights can change the feel of a whole porch.

Fog machines and fluid

Fog machines here include a 400 Watt Wireless Fog Machine With Remote, a 1000 Watt Fog Machine and a Ground Fogger Machine for low fog that stays near the floor. A Fog Machine Timer runs the machine on a schedule. Use the fluid the product page lists for your machine. Options include Fog Fluid in quart and gallon sizes, Low Lying Fog Fluid and Professional Fog Fluid, plus Fog Machine Cleaning Fluid.

Use fog with care

Follow the instructions that come with your fog machine. Use it in a ventilated space, and keep the fog away from people who may be sensitive to it. Fog can set off some smoke alarms, so check your smoke alarm guidance before you run a machine indoors. Never cover or disable a smoke alarm.

Projection lights and digital decor

Lightshow projection lights cast moving ghosts, flaming skulls, blinking eyes and blood drips onto a wall or house. The ProFX Projector Kit and Projector Screens pair with AtmosFX digital decor such as Haunted Library and Dead Walkers to play scenes in a window. For more yard ideas, see outdoor Halloween decorations.

String lights, candelabras and sound

Orange and purple Halloween light sets, ghost string lights and jack-o'-lantern string lights outline a porch or window. Candelabras, skull tea lights and lighted pathway markers light a walkway. Add a Mini Strobe Party Light or the Xtreme Haunted Sound Fx Box for motion and noise. Misting decorations like the Light Up Crystal Ball Mister add a little atmosphere to a table. Keep cords clear of walkways and follow the instructions for indoor or outdoor use. Pair your effects with Halloween animatronics or hanging props. Questions? Call us at 800-618-6053.
