Scary Masks

How to choose scary masks

Decide on the character or the kind of scare you want, then check fit and visibility. Nearly every mask in this collection is listed as One Size, and most are made for adults, so the details on the product page matter more than a size chart. Read the description to see how each mask is worn.

Horror movie characters

Movie and TV fans can choose Michael Myers, including the '92 Murder mask, Ghostface, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Chucky, Pennywise, Jigsaw's Billy, Evil Dead's Ash and Frankenstein. The Purge has its own range, with Lady Liberty, Abe Lincoln, Uncle Sam, Spike and Plus masks. Pair a mask with a full outfit from horror movie costumes or Michael Myers costumes.

Original scary designs

Not every scare needs a famous face. You will find clowns like the Ha Ha Ha and Sweet Dreams masks, a zombie with black hair, a wailing spirit, a restraint mask, a corroded face and an old grandma. Some styles light up, such as the Purge Lady Liberty and the Poison mask, which stand out at night. Plain faces like the Blank Female, Young Male and Emo Girl masks are quiet and unsettling, and they pair well with simple dark clothes. Brands include Trick or Treat Studios, Ghoulish, Seasonal Visions, Zagone Studios, Fun World, Rubie's, Morris Costumes and Chuck Jarman.

Fit, vision and breathing

Before you wear a mask for a long night, try it on at home. Make sure you can see clearly, including to the sides, and that you can breathe easily. If the eye holes do not line up, adjust how the mask sits on your head. Take the mask off for breaks, and remove it before you drive, climb stairs in the dark or cross a street. Follow any use or care notes on the product page.
